Judith Hawthorne (1727–1786)
Born as the first daughter of
August and Christina, Judith spent most of her early years as an average
girl in the 1700s. In 1747, at the age of 20, she married Jclue Smith
(1707–1780), a local woodworker.
Together, they had four children: Primrose Smith (stillborn in 1750), Malachi Smith (1752–1754), Cyrus Smith (1753–1831), Mabel Smith (1755–1843)
Dosia Hawthorne (1730–1735)
Her bit the dust when she passed away at the age of five after contracting influenza.
Clarissa Hawthorne (1730–1732)
Like her twin sister, her life ended early.
The heir of this generation, Finney was born in 1732 as the older twin. In 1753, he married Clair Fraser (1735–1775), and that same year, they had their first son. In 1754, the Seven Years’ War began, and both Finney and his father were drafted. During the first year of the war, his second child, a daughter, was born.Luckily, in 1763, both Finney and his father got to return home. Three years later, in 1766, two soldiers moved into their household due to the Quartering Act. Around this time, Finney also began to strongly disapprove of his daughter’s behaviour.
In 1770, Clair experienced pregnancy complications, resulting in a miscarriage. No more children followed. Tragically, in 1775, Clair succumbed to smallpox. Finney passed away the following year, in 1776.
Jeremiah Hawthorne (1732–1820)
Born as the younger twin, Jeremiah was the first Hawthorne to live into the 1800s. In 1751, he married Alice Martin (1737–1739). Together, they had five children:
Hamilton Hawthorne (1751–1797), Sandy Hawthorne (1754–1787), Rufus Hawthorne (stillborn in 1755), Wilhelmina Hawthorne (1757–1760) and Ebenezer Hawthorne (stillborn in 1759).

Jeremiah outlived his entire family, passing away in 1820.
