Nigel Hawthorne

Nigel and Editha made the first generation born to the Hawthornes in America in 1640. The next important event in Nigel's life occurred in 1653 when he became the first person of this bloodline to have Access to School. After the passing of his father, Nigel supported his mother in maintaining family accounts with farmhands after school. He got married to Leva Breckfield by 1669 when he was 29. Two years later, their first son was born. Both of them died in 1679, leaving three young kids behind.

Editha Hawthorne

Editha was born the same year as her twin brother. She had spent her life cooking and cleaning, making sure that her brother always had meals after coming back from school. Unfortunately, she died from an infection in 1673 after having cut her hand while cooking.

Eleyn and Elison Hawthorne
The twin girls were born in 1641. Sadly, Eleyn did not survive her birth, and Elison followed her sister to the grave in 1646.

Alienora and Guthild Hawthorne
The third set of twins in the family did not survive their birth, making their birth and death year 1643.

Edolina Hawthorne
Edolina was born in the year 1644 to an annoyed father since he wished for another son. In 1666, she married Vladislaus Straud. They had five children: Catel, Colo, Petronella, Gaufridus, and Pawnelinus. However, only the last-born survived into adulthood. Edolina died in 1701.

Cuthbert Hawthorne
Born in 1651, Cuthbert’s birth was celebrated by his father, who was pleased to have another boy in the family.
In 1679, Cuthbert took custody of his brother Nigel’s children, as he himself had never planned to have his own. During the Salem Witch Trials in 1692, he was accused of being a witch but ultimately survived.
Cuthbert spent much of his middle-aged years battling alcoholism. He witnessed his nieces and nephews marry and start their own families after raising them. He passed away in 1715 from liver failure caused by his drinking, outliving all of his siblings.
